The Second With Early 17th Century Lock-Plate
The first with tapering fullered double-edged blade pierced on either side of the rectangular ricasso, fluted hilt comprising arched quillons widening towards the tips, side-ring, barrel-shaped pommel, and swelling wooden grip (split); the second with three-stage barrel and ring around the muzzle, octagonal breech and short plain tang, drum and nipple, flat bevelled lock of shaped outline and originally for an early snaphaunce pistol, button trigger on the left side of the half-stock, the latter with rounded butt, and brass fore-end plate; together with a Sykes brass-mounted powder-flask for percussion guns, the bag-shaped copper body embossed with rocailles and foliage (3)
