A Caucasian Shasqua
Dated 1276 A.H. Corresponding To 1859 A.D.

With slightly curved single-edged blade cut with three fullers along the back over most of its length on each side, one side struck with a pair of serrated sickle-shaped marks towards the forte, characteristic hilt encased in silver-gilt within beaded borders and decorated overall with symmetrical designs of engraved and nielloed arabesques and foliage against finely punched grounds, pinched in on both sides at the bottom and dated above an Arabic inscription on one side, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather (some losses) with deep silver locket, chape and suspension mounts decorated en suite with the hilt on the outside, the inner side with engraved and nielloed scrolling foliage, two rings for suspension, and with remains of original leather strap with nielloed silver mounts
