A Caucasian Shasqua
Late 19th Century

With slightly curved blade (some areas of pitting) with double fuller over most of its length on each side, characteristic hilt covered in silver nielloed with designs of scrollwork centred on flower-heads, all against a wrigglework ground and within borders of single line beadwork, the pommel with applied scroll on one side, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather with silver locket, chape and suspension mounts en suite with the hilt, the latter each with a ring for suspension
