A Caucasian Kindjal, And A Caucasian Belt
The First Dated 1301 A.H. Corresponding To 1883 A.D., The Second With Russian Silver Marks For 1884

The first with broad tapering double-edged blade with two narrow central fullers over most of its length on each side, and waisted silver hilt nielloed with designs of scrolling foliage against a wrigglework ground on each side, one side inhabited by a bird on the pommel, and with two birds on the other, the outer sides of the grip and top of the pommel nielloed with Arabic inscriptions and the date, in its wood-lined black leather scabbard with shaped russet iron locket and chape each with gold-damascened border, the former with suspension ring, and the latter with spherical terminal; the second comprising a broad band of silver-gilt threads on a fabric backing, mounted over its entire length with engraved and nielloed cyrillic letters between crescents pierced with stars en suite, and with pierced clasp nielloed with foliage against a wrigglework ground (2)
