With slightly curved tapering fullered blade stamped with inspector's marks on one side at the forte and etched 'Manufacture De Klingethal' along the back, regulation iron hilt of flat bars comprising knuckle-guard and side-bar joined together by a diagonal bar and each with central circular feature, the side-bar screwed to the cap-shaped pommel, the latter with ovoidal button, flat rounded rear quillon and bluntly-pointed inner-guard, the latter stamped with Museum of Artillery mark beneath, and ribbed leather-covered grip bound with iron wire, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard (leather with some losses) with iron and brass mounts, the locket and chape (light pitting) each with a ring for suspension
