With bright tapering double-edged blade struck with two marks on one side at the forte, one the mark of Baroniet Schimmelman, heavy brass half-basket hilt with large oval side-guard cast and chased with the crowned regional arms of the Borholms regiment and linked to the knuckle-guard by slender bars of square section forming triangles, inner bar en suite, swelling rear quillon, pommel formed as a Classical helmet, and spirally-grooved leather-covered grip with remains of twisted brass wire binding
