With bright tapering blade (minor scattered rust) double-edged to the point over half its length and stamped with maker's details on one side at the forte, swelling wooden grip (loose) carved as entwined scaled monster's bodies and set with silver pins on one side, their heads extending into the shouldered base on each side between applied silver thistles (missing from one side), and with silver basal mount (pommel-cap missing), in original black leather scabbard (damaged, chape detached) with silver locket, chape and mounts for by-knife and fork en suite with the hilt, the locket engraved with thistles centred on a vacant shield-shaped escutcheon, the by-knife and fork en suite with the hilt
