A Balkan 18-Bore Miquelet-Lock Carbine (Arnautka)
19th Century, Probably Albanian

With russet barrel with slightly bulbous muzzle and indistinct inscription along the top flat at the breech (back-sight missing), and retained by three engraved brass barrel bands, plain tang and characteristic lock, full stock of characteristic form entirely covered in iron panels loosely engraved with designs of foliage and sparsely inlaid with brass roundels of geometric design, slender curved 'fish-tail' butt mounted in brass retained by pins and engraved with foliate scrollwork, iron trigger-guard and suspension rings, and iron ramrod with baluster tip (some rust patination)
