Three Indian Dhals
Late 19th Century

Each of steel and of convex circular form, the first with applied rim and four bosses, the outer surface (some wear and surface rust) decorated in gold koftgari with designs of foliage, the bosses framed by an applied serpentine riband, and bordered by applied brass vines; the second of similar form, with four pierced bosses, the outer surface crudely chiselled with concentric bands of loosely silver-damascened foliage and roundels, the latter containing figures and animals including elephants; the last, similar, the outer surface with concentric bands of loosely silver-damascened foliage inhabited by elephants (3)
36 cm., 45 cm. and 60.5 cm. diam.
