With watered broad curved blade of characteristic form double-edged towards the point in front of the yelman, the latter chiselled on each side with an arabesque retaining traces of gold-damascening, the back of the blade chiselled with a medial line over much of its length, the forte on one side with traces of gold-damascening, and on the other with gold-damascened cartouche containing Turkish inscriptions (worn), hilt comprising border engraved quillon-block (loose) decorated with a flower-head on each side, pointed langets (one incomplete) and tapering quillons with faceted bud-shaped terminals, reeded grip-strap and rounded rhinoceros horn grips (one with some worm damage), the pommel pierced for a sword-knot, in original wooden scabbard now covered in brown leather with deep locket and chape en suite with the quillon-block, the former with engraved tughra on one side, and shaped suspension mount carrying two rings for suspension (some wear to gilding)
