With curved single-edged blade (cutting-edge nicked) finely watered with Jacob's Ladder pattern, the forte on one side with two gold-inlaid cartouches inscribed respectively in nas'taliq script 'The Sword of Imam Ali Abbas' and 'Work of Asadullah Isfahani', the hilt comprising border engraved quillon-block with applied pierced and chased foliage on both sides, pointed langets and tapering quillons with bud-shaped terminals, engraved grip-strap (repaired at the quillon-block), and rounded rhinoceros horn grips, the pommel pierced for a sword-knot and set with a later silver floret on one side, in original wooden scabbard (top part including suspension mount replaced) covered in black leather with deep chape and suspension mount en suite with the hilt, the latter with ring for suspension
