With slightly recurved single-edged blade cut with a narrow fuller along the back for most of its length on each side, one side damascened in gold with a narrow panel containing an inscription in naskh, probably the owner's and maker's names, and on the other with a gold-damascened tughra, a chased white-metal mount (repaired, minor damage) over the forte on each side, characteristic silver-gilt hilt with grip-strap en suite, and border engraved 'eared' grips engraved with flower-heads, in original wood-lined parcel-gilt silver scabbard (minor damage) embossed and chased along each side with symmetrical designs of foliage and trelliswork within strapwork borders, gilt locket cast, pierced and chased with four bands of foliage between plaits of filigree (one incomplete), chevroned chape with monster-head terminal, and small loop for suspension
