A Turkish Yataghan
Dated 1266 A.H. Corresponding To 1849 A.D.

With slightly recurved single-edged blade with narrow fuller along the back for most of its length on each side and damascened with a silver star in a decorative panel on one side, and on the other with panels enclosing the date and Turkish calligraphy including the owner's name 'Ibrahim Agha' and maker's name 'Uthman', a gilt-metal mount over each side of the forte set with filigree and a faceted piece of green glass, hilt with gilt grip-strap set with fluted red corals, and 'eared' walrus ivory grip-scales (scabbard missing)
