An Indian Jade Khanjar Hilt Mounted On A Silver Blade
The Hilt 19th Century, The Blade With London Silver Hallmarks For 1890, Maker's Mark G.P

With broad slightly recurved single-edged blade engraved along the back on one side with a ewer of flowering foliage above the Arabic numerals '1231', the forte with shaped foliate engraved mount extending over the back of the blade and engraved with guilloche along the top, and pale green jade hilt of flattened oval section (repaired with a medial gold band) scrolled at the base and with pommel carved in the round as a horse's head with gold-set ruby eyes, the details including pointed ears and mane
