The First No. 105721, Late 19th Century, The Second No. F7876, Dated 1877

The first with russet barrel retained by three barrel bands, two spring-held, the forward one also forming a ramrod-pipe, folding adjustable back-sight at the octagonal breech and operating against a calibrated ramp, russet action and bolt, the former stamped 'Keller A Aarau', the serial number below, figured butt and partly chequered fore-end each stamped with inspector's marks, the latter enclosing the magazine tube, regulation steel mounts stamped with inspector's marks and including spur trigger-guard, sling loops, and steel ramrod (some surface patination overall); the second with russet sighted barrel retained by two spring-held brass barrel bands and with bayonet mount on the right side of the muzzle, folding calibrated adjustable back-sight in front of the octagonal breech section, the latter stamped 'Manufacture D'Armes St. Etienne Mle 1874' over 'M80', downbent lever, figured three-quarter stock (minor damage and bruising), regulation brass mounts with inspector's marks, and sling loops (ramrod missing, some rust patination) (2)
