An Italian Close-Helmet Of So-Called Savoyard Type
Circa 1630

With rounded two-piece skull with incised line bordering the join along the top and bent-out to form a neck-defence with turned border at the back, mask-like visor pierced for ventilation over the mouth and cut-out for vision either side of a central point (incomplete), peaked fall (one side broken) bent down to form two 'eyebrow' like projections over the visor, both pivoted at the same points as the bevor, and single gorget-plate at the front (some damage and surface rust)
