19th Century

With broad curved double-edged blade with medial ridge over its entire length on each side, and waisted rhinoceros horn hilt of oval section set with five silvered-copper filigree roundels on one side, a white-metal boss between the lower two with Arabic calligraphy and dated 1327 A.H. corresponding to 1909 A.D., the top of the pommel set with a silver-copper filigree mount en suite, in original wooden scabbard entirely covered in silver decorated with bands and panels of embossed diamonds against beaded grounds, the locket area and chape with bands in imitation of wire binding, and with small loop on the inside for suspension
