A Large Group Of Lock Mechanisms, Lock-Plates, Cocks, Hammers, And Other Parts For Antique Guns And Pistols
18th/19th Century And Later

Comprising a large group of items including numerous lock mechanisms (mostly incomplete), mostly English and by various makers including examples by Joseph Manton, W. Henshaw, Delany, Griffin and Griffin & Tow; the parts mainly comprising trigger-guards and butt-caps, the former including a fine silver example from a flintlock pistol with cast and chased scallop shell and flower-head finial, and engraved with a martial trophy on the bow, London silver hallmarks for 1786, maker's mark of Michael Barnett, the latter including a silver butt-cap from a flintlock pistol of circa 1790, finely cast and chased in relief with foliage, grotesque masks, two serpents and two demi-hounds, Britannia silver hallmarks, maker's mark of Michael Barnett (a lot)
