The first with photocopy of a handwritten note attached to the back of the frame dated 1 May 1939, signed by Cripps-Day and reading 'This helm formed part of the achievements placed over the funeral place of Henry VI by Richard III. It was removed about 1607 and placed over the garter stall of the Sovereign in St. George's Chapel, Windsor, where it remained until about 1800.
