A German Combined Hunting Sword And 150-Bore Flintlock Pistol
Circa 1760

With slightly curved blade (some rust staining and minor pitting) double-edged towards the point and etched with a panel of strapwork against a hatched ground and sprigs of foliage involving a running stag along one side of the forte, and with a running boar in front of the pistol on the other, the pistol with two-stage barrel retained by an iron ring, the action with external springs and folding trigger, the brass-mounted hilt with associated downturned shell-guard cast with Europa and the Bull framed by foliage against a punched ground, short rounded horizontally recurved quillons with foliate terminals, and spirally-grooved green-stained staghorn grip of tapering ovoidal section now with brass pommel-cap cast and chased with a hunting scene, in its black leather scabbard with brass chape
