Indistinct London Silver Hallmarks For 1738
With slightly curved saw-back blade double-edged towards the point and fullered over its entire length on each side, hilt cast and chased in relief with shells and foliage against finely punched grounds, centred on a bearded 'Green Man's' mask on the downbent shell-guard and on the back of the pommel, lobed rear quillon, quillon-block with a lion-mask on each side, knuckle-guard, and vertically fluted tapering dark horn grip
