An English Silver-Hilted Hunting Sword
Indistinct Silver Hallmarks, Circa 1740

With tapering saw-back blade double-edged towards the point and with double fuller along the back on both sides, one fuller extending to the point, hilt cast and chased with baskets of foliage against punched grounds and comprising downbent shell-guard with diagonally fluted border, quillon-block, downcurved rear quillon, knuckle-guard with a trophy of arms on each side, domed pommel-cap with button, and tapering spirally-grooved shagreen-covered grip bound with twisted silver wire
