The blade with two mekugi-ana, midare hamon with tobuyaki and yo, fully bound tsuka with shakudo nanako fuchi-kashira decorated with bamboo in shakudo, copper and gold, large shakudo and gilt menuki in the form of heron, and circular iron sukashi tsuba chiselled and pierced with a turtle and crashing waves with a heron flying above, gold details, in its black lacquer saya (damaged) decorated with herons in flight in gold lacquer
