Footnotes
A letter by William Pollard to his son in 1854 reveals that he arrived at Daniel in 1822 and left in 1827. This letter is reproduced by Jones and Joseph, Swansea Porcelain Shapes and Decoration, pp 40-41. Pollard's work appears on cusped-shaped pieces in the range of pattern numbers 3820 to 3962, as well as a number of elaborate one-off pieces and ornamental forms.
