The trigger-guard tangs and forend-tips numbered '1' and '2' in gold, the toplevers inlaid with 'A.C' in gold, the sides of the action-bodies with the makers name engraved in a scrolling banner surrounded by best bold foliate-scrollwork, the undersides with vignettes engraved depicting a pheasant (No. 1) and a woodcock (No. 2), both in natural settings and signed 'Wal Howe', rolled-edge trigger-guards, colour-hardened triggers, highly-figured stocks, the barrels, engraved A. Brown, Gunmaker, Birmingham, England, with matt Churchill-style ribs, easy-opening compressors and scroll-engraved breech-ends

This pair were built as part of a series of five guns produced by Albert Henry Brown after his retirement from A.A. Brown & Sons in 1978. They were engraved by Walter Howe, who had previously been the chief engraver for Webley & Scott
