Purdey thumb-hole underlever patent no. 1104 of 2nd May 1863, rebounding island backlocks with dolphin hammers, percussion fences, best foliate-scroll engraving, traces of hardening-colour, well-figured stock with steel butt-plate, the browned damascus barrels (slightly shortened, loose on action) with game-rib engraved J. Purdey, 314½ Oxford Street, London
