Footnotes
The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in 1857 as a 14-bore. It is also listed as 'central-fire', which suggests they may have undertaken the conversion of this gun from pinfire. The barrels were converted to 20-bore by insertion of a full-length liner, probably prior to its reproof in 1981. The barrel-flats are stamped 'sleeved'
