the half draped maiden with her left hand raised to her ear, stepping on rocks, dark brown patination, signed Drouot, 59cm high

Footnotes

Edward Drouot was born in Sommevoire in 1859 and studied in Paris under Mathurin Moreau. He began exhibiting at the Salon of 1889 winning a third class medal at the Salon of 1892 and an honourable mention at the Exposition Universelle of 1900. He specialised in allegorical and mythological figures such as the present bronze.
