An Empire period patinated and gilt bronze figural mantel clock

the movement by Hémon à Paris
the standing male figure holding a cornucopia, leaning on the clock case, surmounted by an urn, on a plinth base applied with gilt bronze mounts, on four scrolling feet, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and with outside countwheel striking on a bell, stamped HÉMON A PARIS, 54cm high

Footnotes

The horologer Hémon was maitre in 1770 and ran his workshop at the rue Saint-Martin from 1812 to 1820. His movements were used by Pierre Philippe Thomire, an example of which was sold at Christies, Paris, June 25 2008, lot 195A.
