A builders' mirror-back half model of a steam yacht
British, late 19th or early 20th century

the hull built up from the solid cut and faired to shape, with a painted red bottom, white topsides with applied mahogany waist rails, mahogany cap rail, decks painted and the planking drawn in India ink, detailed with jackstaff, anchor davit, splash board, bollards, whale-back, ventilators, deck railings, ladders, stump masts, search lights, boats on davits, bridge with wheel and binnacle, running lights, funnel, deck benches, flagstaff and other details. Displayed on a mirror [later] within a mahogany frame [missing front section], the frame inscribed: A Half Model Of A High Speed, Twin Screw, Trans-Atlantic Steam Yacht.
