The US Mail Steamer John E. Moore was built by Copes and Allison in Hoboken, NJ and owned by the Guion Line. She had principal dimensions of 113.6ft LOA x 20.7ft beam and a 7.8ft draft and weighing 135 tons. The John E. Moore was used for a time as an immigrant transfer vessel between Manhattan and Ellis Island.
