Printed in blue with two popular patterns, one side with the 'Fence' pattern, the reverse with the 'Plantation' pattern, the interior with a subsidiary print of a figure in a rowing boat passing a willow tree on an overhanging rock, a diaper border inside the rim, 16.3cm diam (chip inside footrim)
Footnotes
These two popular Worcester patterns were copied at Isleworth in a number of versions. The same print of the Fence pattern occurs on the following lot where the subsidiary print from the centre of this bowl is used on the exterior. The Plantation pattern on this bowl is apparently from the same copper plate as an Isleworth creamjug in the Watney Collection, part 1, lot 412. The factory probably had access to only a limited number of copper plates and consequently when used on certain shapes, large area of white were left between the primary subjects.
