A Worcester leaf shaped pickle or sweetmeat dish, circa 1760-65

Crisply moulded in the form of a heart-shaped leaf, the stalk forming a handle, painted in blue with the 'Blown Rose Leaf Tray' pattern, the naturalistic rose shown in profile with three buds, the border with three smaller flower sprigs, 15cm long, crescent mark (faint body crack around the footrim, an original firing crack in the stem is glazed over during manufacture)

Provenance: the Billie Pain Collection, sold in these rooms 26 November 2003, lot 189. Also exhibited by Albert Amor in 1979, catalogue no 60 and illustrated by Branyan, French and Sandon, Worcester Blue and White Porcelain (1981/1989), pattern I.E.28. Another example was sold in these rooms 8 April 2009, lot 116.
