A Vauxhall mug, circa 1754-56

Of bell shape, painted in bright blue with a continuous Chinese river scene, a man crossing a stoutly constructed bridge between two islands, the smaller supporting trees and rockwork, the larger with a small hut beside a prunus tree, the grooved strap handle with a foliate stem, 12cm high (filled rim chip)
