A rare Longton Hall sauceboat, circa 1753-56

Of oval shape, crisply moulded with vertical bands of twin basketweave, between plain panels painted in blue with a Chinaman walking amongst tall plants, a shell applied below the spout to form a drip-guard, a similar shell below the handle, 21cm long (cracked and chipped, handle reattached)
