A Worcester tea canister and a metal cover, circa 1785

Of rare square section, printed in bright blue with the 'European Landscape' pattern, the two main prints including a splendid windmill, the border around the shoulder normally associated with the 'Fisherman' pattern, 10.5cm high overall, crescent mark (some chipping to the rim visible beneath the later silver mounts) (2)

Footnotes

Exhibited by Stockspring Antiques, Tea, Trade and Tea Canisters, Exhibition catalogue no. 19. A curious feature of this pattern is the variety of different windmills used.
