A Lowestoft tea canister and cover and corresponding mould fragment, circa 1770-80

Of rectangular form with an arched top, the cover with a flower finial, the exterior moulded with vertical ribs, painted in blue with the 'Immortelle' pattern, 12.2cm high, crossed swords mark, together with an original plaster factory mould for a ribbed tea canister of the same form, 10.8cm high (3)

Both the tea canister and cover and the mould are illustrated by Geoffrey Godden, English Blue and White Porcelain (2004), pl 355, p 289. The mould was excavated by Spelman on the site of the Lowestoft factory, see the following lot.
