Footnotes

Illustrated by Geoffrey Godden, English Blue and White Porcelain (2004), pl 446, p 357. Zachariah Barnes is discussed at pps 357-358 and is recorded as a china manufacturer in the Haymarket in Liverpool. The porcelains that he produced over what may have been a 20 year period have yet to be identified. This teapot and cover does not fall into any of the present acknowledged groupings and thus might have been produced by Barnes
