Of slightly shouldered globular form, printed in deep underglaze blue on both sides with the 'Milkmaids' pattern, within elaborate borders, brown enamel trim on the cover, knop and spout, 15cm high (chips to spout and cover, slight crazing) (2)

Zachariah Barnes is discussed at pps 357-358 and is recorded as a china manufacturer in the Haymarket in Liverpool. The porcelains that he produced over what may have been a 20 year period have yet to be identified. This teapot and cover does not fall into any of the present acknowledged groupings and thus might have been produced by Barnes
