A large Liverpool sauceboat, circa 1758-60

Attributed to William Reid and Co., of large size and supported on a high gadrooned foot, the fluted sides reserved with panels flanked by delicately moulded flowers and leaves, painted in blue with the 'Man on a Bridge' pattern, a flower sprig in the shell-moulded panel beneath the spout, a diaper border below the rim, 20.4cm long, painter's numeral 4 to underside (chips to footrim, cracked)
