An interesting teapot, attributed to Isleworth, circa 1770-80

Plain globular with moulded ribbed handle and curving spout, printed in blue with the 'Fence' pattern, the full design repeated on the reverse, 10.3cm high (cover lacking)

Footnotes

The crescent mark, copied from Worcester, is normally seen on Lowestoft but it is known that Isleworth used a painted C with a curled serif and so they were not averse to the use of misleading marks. The moulded form of the handle is the strongest suggestion of an Isleworth attribution for this particular teapot.
