A gilt and polychromed ivory figure

Meiji Period
Featuring a Chinese beauty standing with an incense container and lotus bud, her multi-tiered robes festooned with brocade panels of phoenix amid blossoms picked out in gilt and brightly colored pigments, further accents on her diadem fronting a tall chignon swept up from her raven black tresses framing the sweetly smiling face, the base with an apocryphal Kenryu mark (crack).
