A 'Kamakura bori' style document box and suzuribako set

Meiji Period
Each rectangular lid carved with a low relief spray of flowering red camellia picked out in red, yellow ocher and green lacquer accents on the characteristic red ground, the interiors with an unusual mottled tan and black lacquer ground, the bunko-bako with an interior tray decorated en suite, the smaller writing box with removable copper suiteki, ink stone, ink sticks and brushes.
