A large earthenware covered jar

Meiji/Taisho Period
The body of baluster form, mounted by shishi-form handles and raised on shishi heads issuing scrolled feet with a domical cover surmounted by a large shishi, the body decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt with shaped panels of geese and flowers opposite a Chinese landscape, in reserve against a net pattern in relief in blue and gold, with a diaper pattern band to the waisted neck and conforming decoration to the cover.
