A massive Imari porcelain covered urn

Meiji/Taisho Period
Of tapering octagonal section and profusely decorated in gilt, underglaze blue and polychrome enamel with alternating panels of confronted dragons or phoenix reserved on a dense brocade ground between large floral-patterned lappets encircling the base and high shoulder, the neck with further alternating floral panels repeated on the rim of the high domical lid decorated en suite and surmounted by a tall bud finial (rim).
