Danburite

Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico
Danburite, originally discovered in Danbury, Connecticut, is generally a brilliant, colorless gem when faceted. The best danburites are found in the deposits of Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Large, clean danburite gems are sought after by collectors and can be used as a substitute for diamonds in jewelry—the gemstone is rarely seen in sizes larger than 10 carats. The present colorless specimen has been expertly faceted into a heart-shape exceptional choice due to its clarity, large size and excellent faceting. Weighing approximately15.19 carats and measuring 17.5 x 17.0mm
