IVA, Fine octahedriteGibeon, Namibia, Africa
Making a stylish "other-worldly" statement each of these companion pair of wristwatches has a dial which is fabricated from a single slab of Gibeon meteorite, which was discovered in the vast African desert close to Gibeon, Namibia in the early 1800s. Acid etched to reveal its classic Widmanstätten pattern; it is housed in a case made of durable titanium. The Widmanstätten pattern is naturally occurring in outer space, due to the cooling of iron and nickel in an environment with little to no gravity—under conditions that cannot be recreated on Earth due to the slow cooling rate of an estimated one degree Celsius per 1 million years. Offered on an embossed black leather strap. (2)
