Fire agate is a durable form of chalcedony exhibiting excellent iridescent play-of-color in predominantly green and orange hues. The present masculine ring, centers on a large cabochon fire agate, probably collected in Arizona, polished by Roy Rogers himself. The 14K yellow gold, designed by Roy, bears a whimsical rope-twist border ressembling a lasso motif, engraved with indistinct maker's mark M, size 8 ½. ; together with a group of bolo ties including a "Petosky stone" agatized coral from Michigan in a metal horseshoe-form mount, and three other bolo ties of agate, jasper or quartz.
