Iron, course octadedrite
Gran Chaco, Argentina
Similar in appearance to coral, or to a barrel sponge in the South Pacific with an oscule (excurrent opening) at its top, this is a strikingly handsome meteorite. Its organic contours are blanketed in a sea of unusually dense swirls. With a charcoal patina and gleaming accents, this is a splendid meteorite from the "Valley of the Sky" and an elegant natural sculpture from outer space. Measures 12 1/4 x 9 x 7 inches; Weighing 92.9lbs (42.169 kg)
