Fossils were first gathered in the White River Badlands by early Native Americans, then later by the Sioux. The first scientifically studied specimen was a fragment of a titanothere jaw described by Dr. Hiram A. Prout. This fine collection of three Oligocene Age fossils comprises a tortoise shell, the skull of an oreodont and the lower jaw of an entelodont. The tortoise shell is complete. Mounted in a rotating acrylic display case. Display case measures 15in x 9in x 9in; Tortoise measures 8in; Oreodont skull measures 6in; Entelodont jaw measures 11in
