A large Mioplosus, an uncommon species, is featured in a limestone mural with a Diplomystus and six Knightia. Mioplosus is an ancient perch relative; Diplomystus, a classic species from this geologic formation, was a surface feeder; Knightia is a herring-like species and is the state fossil of Wyoming. Marvelous gray tonal limestone, of vertical rectangular orientation, adds to the aesthetic appeal of this exquisite sampling of superbly preserved specimens from the famed 18-inch layer of the Green River Formation.
